Field Locations

Rustic scenery, wide and vast open spaces, texture and layers. What more could you ask for? Fields are the most popular setting clients will choose for their session. So to help in your decision making, here below is a list of my most commonly used field locations and what makes them uniquely special.

Anstead

This beautiful hill-set location is stunning all year round. With hilltop and sunset views, giant old trees and multiple pockets of assorted vegetation in different areas to offer a huge amount of variety, this location really has it all. The area displays long weeping grass with mown tracks to keep us safe. The area does have gravel paths and rocks within the grass so high heels are not recommended.

This location is super popular amongst locals walking their dogs and riding horses. So yes, this area is dog friendly, however, as with all fields, I do ask that all clients wear bug spray containing DEET and all pets be fully ticked.

Samford Village

This location with its beautiful field also offers the addition of an easily accessible creek area. For this reason, if families wish to have pictures taken alongside the creek, I often suggest starting the session slightly earlier for more optimal lighting. Again this fielded area has slashed tracks amongst the grass that we can easily access as we explore.

Dakabin

This easily accessible location just past Northlakes changes shape throughout the year. I recommend the use of this area when the grass is knee height when the gorgeous golden topped grass glows during those sunset moments. Whilst it is possible to access the field via vehicle, I do recommend parking across the road and walking up when the grass is long due to visibility and its popularity amongst other photographers for safety.

Rochedale

With wide open spaces and pockets of longer grass, this secluded location is a great option for those seeking convenience. There are power lines throughout the area which may be visible in your gallery, however I always endeavour to try and avoid them and correct whilst editing.

Please note - there is now a locked gate you are required to climb through to get access to this area, due to the illegal dumping of rubbish in the area.

Murarrie

A hidden gem amongst the inner city chaos. With wide open spaces this location is another option for those wanting convenience with it's location. A brisk walk is required to explore this large grassy area. This area does get wet and muddy after rainfall in some pockets as not all of the region is in direct sunlight, so flat shoes are a must. There are also two bodies of water here so depending on recent rainfall, there may be mosquitoes so bug spray is recommended.

Hemmant

A second favorite for South-siders wanting convenient and close to home is this secluded location. With river views, patches of long grass and some points of difference this location offers a beautiful golden hour with variety.

Ormeau

Another beautiful and popular location used by many. This hillside location is located on the Northern end of the Gold Coast. Depending on access with the grass length, this hillside property offers sunset and valley views, beautiful foliage, occasionally wildflowers and orchid inspired tree planting

Upper Kedron

This sparse large bushland has ample options for variety amongst your gallery. Over the years this location has undergone some council replanting but now with the area starting to mature again, this option is back on the table.

With tree lined pathways, hills with views of the landscape as well as a dam, this location is perfect for the family happy to roam and explore.

*This location does require a fair amount of walking so please wear suitable footwear.

Twigley's Farm - Ipswich

Located at a private farm in Ipswich this gorgeous 20acre homestead location has a great deal to offer. From secret gardens to tree swings, a perfect field to capture golden hour as well as a dam with rolling hillsides in the background, the choices are endless. Also a little FYI they also offer glamping!

*As this is a private property, this location can only be selected by appointment with the owners at a fee of $55.00

Birkdale

This grassy hilltop area is suitable for those local to the Redland Bay area unable to travel to alternate locations. Located within the public sporting complex, this location has gorgeous fluffy grass up a small hill with a gravel pathway to add a point of interest. However due to the size of the location, this would not be suitable for larger family groups.

Highvale

Another hidden beauty, this hillside location boasts scenic mountain horizons and gorgeous vegetation to offer a beautiful point of difference.

Strathpine

<currently unavailable 2022/2023>

This gorgeous location again is one that has it all. Based along the river, there are multiple points of difference for this Strathpine location that make it a popular choice for many. With river views, pockets of golden topped grass, more private and secluded open spaces, gum trees and a "mountain" to climb for those river views, this location will provide your gallery with a huge variety as we explore during our session.

I do recommend bug spray here in the wet months as mosquitoes can definitely be a nuisance.
